Wow, back from a crazy September! I’ve been traveling all over….basically hit 7 countries in 3 weeks
Lots of stamps in my passport :D All for different purposes (well, work for the 1st one, and holiday for the rest). I have a lot to type up, but I think I’ll wait until I upload my pictures, and then import them to my site, so I can link up photos to posts to make things easier. I’ll have tomorrow to do that and catch up on the laundry/ironing I have to do.

This week is the start of the IBC Trade show in Amsterdam, which I’ll be a part of, demonstrating my company’s digital signage products. I’m very nervous! My co-workers say it’s easy, but it’s still new to me. I’m sure I’ll be ok after the first day, but even so, ahh! Wish me luck! Then I’m off to Portugal for a few days with my co-workers/girlfriends, so that should be nice :) After I come home on Sunday, I’ll be home for 6 days and then off on holiday on a small cruise to Corfu (Greece) that goes around the Adriatic Sea hitting Croatia, Italy and back to Greece. I’m looking forward to that! Especially the hot weather! I need sun!
I’m finally working on my Ubuntu PC aka (the purple box). I bought a Samsung Synmaster SM2232BW LCD monitor, which has a glossy bezel and 22″ screen…it’s very nice and at £155, a great price
Amazon rocks. Pictures to come eventually. Also bought a wirless adapter for it which was detected right away… so far Ubuntu has been very friendly for me, detecting all my devices. I worked on a couple of countdown banners for the release of Ubuntu 8.10 in October. You can check them out here

Have you ever done a search on yourself, or an old alias of yours and laugh at what you find? Apparently I signed up to Tech Support Forum “ages” ago (2002) when I built my very first pc :) and my old url (no longer works).

So I’ve been a bit busy these last few days…mainly for work. We have the IBC trade show coming up, and I’m going to demo our digital signage products. I’m nervous, since I haven’t done this before, but it should be a good experience. Wish me luck
On another note, today I woke up early and finally have what I call the “purple pc” that I Frankenstein’d a few months ago. It is composed of two different PC components. My boyfriend’s old gaming pc (dark purple case), and his brother’s old pc. Other than the loud noise (which I can fix if I bother to buy a new fan for the processor), it’s running well. I was running Fedora Linux on it, but have decided to install Ubuntu since I got this book - Beginning Ubuntu Linux - for free! Someone from Apress Publishing contacted me and let me get a complmentary copy to review! Pretty cool. So I’m finally going to go through the book and learn/brush up on some skills. I also still want to contribute to the new Ubuntu website team and at least try to work on some graphics or banners.
Now, I wonder if I can install Oracle on it for my boyfriend? I’m sure there’s a way. If you have any advice, leave a comment!
