Updates

So I’ve been a bit busy these last few days…mainly for work. We have the IBC trade show coming up, and I’m going to demo our digital signage products. I’m nervous, since I haven’t done this before, but it should be a good experience. Wish me luck :)
On another note, today I woke up early and finally have what I call the “purple pc” that I Frankenstein’d a few months ago. It is composed of two different PC components. My boyfriend’s old gaming pc (dark purple case), and his brother’s old pc. Other than the loud noise (which I can fix if I bother to buy a new fan for the processor), it’s running well. I was running Fedora Linux on it, but have decided to install Ubuntu since I got this book - Beginning Ubuntu Linux - for free! Someone from Apress Publishing contacted me and let me get a complmentary copy to review! Pretty cool. So I’m finally going to go through the book and learn/brush up on some skills. I also still want to contribute to the new Ubuntu website team and at least try to work on some graphics or banners.
Now, I wonder if I can install Oracle on it for my boyfriend? I’m sure there’s a way. If you have any advice, leave a comment! :)

Use Wine in ubuntu…so far it’s been working pretty good for me on the Lenovo X300.
