LOL! This so describes me a few years ago (college) when I started off with Redhat 3.

I had recompiled my kernel to get the sound working on my custom built pc. I stayed up late until I did it…and when I did, ah yes, the sweet smell of victory!
(Now I choose Ubuntu.)
